“Your willingness to look at your darkness is what empowers you to change.”- Iyanla Vanzant
As a queer Black woman, I know it can be difficult to find safe spaces to express yourself and navigate the hardships of life. My passion is serving the communities I am part of as a guide, so you do not have to do it alone. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-identity, sexuality, relationships, or trauma, I will be there with you every step of the way, providing a space where your entire self can feel safe, heard, validated, and celebrated.
Often, we do not realize that we already have the tools we need to heal within us; we just have to slow down and turn inwards to find them. As we work together, my goal will be to help you uncover those tools. Just like each of our experiences vary, my approach to therapy with you varies as well. I utilize a combination of Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Relational, and EMDR therapy modalities to meet you where you are to ensure your individual needs and goals are addressed.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and continued on to receive my Master of Arts and Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University. I have served client populations ranging from adolescence to adulthood in both community-based organizations and private practice settings.
I am looking forward to joining you on your healing journey!
