“Even if its makes others uncomfortable, I will love who I am”- Janelle Monáe
With life there is an abundance of beauty, but as beautiful as it is, there will be obstacles; which can be challenging and overwhelming when navigating on your own. What if I told you that you don’t have to do it alone? Working collaboratively with a therapist will help cultivate the innate skills you already possess while developing new tools and techniques needed to overcome obstacles as challenges arise.
As a woman of color, I understand how daunting it can be to make the decision to seek out and ultimately see a therapist. Talking about your emotions can be difficult, so my goal as your therapist is to provide you with a safe space to be vulnerable and to collaboratively work with you through the issues you are currently facing; whether you’re undergoing a big change in your life, in or out of a relationship, feeling stuck, dealing with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma, or just need someone to talk to. I also understand how important it is for people to feel heard and understood without being judged, which is why I am passionate about working with people of color and being a resource to provide you with guidance and support during challenging times.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hampton University and a master’s degree in Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. I have worked with an array of adult individuals in various settings, including the child welfare system and other community-based organizations.
My ultimate goal is to encourage and empower you to heal and grow so you can reach your full potential and become the best version of yourself.
