“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go no one else.”-Les Brown
Ever feel like for every step forward you take, you move three steps back? That no matter what you do, it never seems like enough? That you’re at your wits end dealing with the demands of work, family, children and the ups and downs of life? If you’ll allow me, I will help you navigate those steps, thoughts, and challenges in a way that works best for you.
As a black man, I know first-hand how difficult it can be to admit that you may need support, because people of color are often taught to be strong by not seeking out help. However, I am here to teach you the skills needed to examine that narrative, to provide validation, and to help you to feel seen and heard. One of the most important parts of my role will be to create a space where you can be your true self without judgment.
I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and English from Brooklyn College and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. I have worked with adults within the Department of Education and the Department of Health supporting teachers, leadership and families through mental wellness workshops, consultations and professional development.
Let’s begin this journey with you leading the way and me illuminating your path to uplift and empower you to keep moving forward.
