“You are the designer of your destiny, you are at the author of your story” – Lisa Nicholas

Think of me as your life guide or the positive voice in your head. I specialize in helping people of color in their mid-20s and 30s who are seeking acceptance and longing to sort out their thoughts and emotions. They are struggling to find peace because life is not easy.  I assist individuals who have a tendency to beat themselves up with negative thoughts, or are having difficulties navigating relationships after a cycle of bad ones.  I know support and guidance are needed to move past various life issues in order to feel more whole and confident while releasing fear and pain.

As someone who has experienced their own share of crisis; I know firsthand the need to find a therapist who is skilled and understands my cultural struggles. Someone who I can be myself with and not have to worry about how my thoughts and emotions are perceived. Although our lives maybe different, know that I have been where you are and I believe we all deserve to have space and time to focus solely on ourselves.

Therapy is tailored to individual needs. Some need the classic therapist who smiles and nods in the beginning, while others need some who is willing to delve and challenge current patterns and behavior, immediately. I start where you are and will not give more than you can handle.

I received a bachelors in psychology from Temple University, and went on to obtain a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. For several years I have worked with various ages of adulthood in mutiple settings, however it is my passion to work with people  of color in their 20s and 30s.

I believe you are the driver of your life, I am the passenger holding the map.
