Kayla Marte
“When the music changes, so must your dance.” – Elaine Weltroth

Life presents many different obstacles- some that we are prepared to overcome and others that we may find difficult to navigate. However, it is important for us to learn how to dance to the movements of life, whether things are upbeat like a catchy summer song, or slow, like a ballad. As your therapist, I would like to help you find the rhythm of your life, using the most appropriate methods and practices to allow you to feel more at ease.
I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from City College, and a Masters of Literacy from Hunter College. As a clinical resident, I am currently in the process of obtaining my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. I aim to be of service to a community that may struggle with the changes that come with transitioning through different stages of life, whether career-wise or in new and existing relationships.
Being an Afro-Latina born and reared in New York, I also hope to support people of color, individuals who may be dealing with anxiety or depression, and/or those who need help with building their own self-esteem and community. Everyone’s journey is different, I just hope to be your personal “dance instructor” to guide you through the ever-changing music of life.
